Calendar, Schedule, and Holidays oh my!
I decided to spend the day with a discussion conerning the agrarian-based school-year calendar being utilized with an industrial-based daily schedule for educating our students. This tradition, which has become embedded within our culture also has economic ramifications. What if we decided to change to year-round schooling? 9 weeks on followed by 3 weeks off (5 in winter, plus an additional for "Holy Week" in spring). Each term has English and Math, while Social Studies and Science alternate (loner preiods, of course). What are your thoughts?
