We will be in the CCC (College Career Center) today - so not much to talk about for my class specifically. However, notice the extra "P" in the title? To what could I be referring? Think USA Hockey "Miracle on Ice" in 1980 at Lake Placid.

There was a reading about the Wizard of Oz as a metaphor for turn-of-the-century monetary policy in the U.S. as well as some Simpsons clips demonstrating some economic principles (elasticity, consumerism, etc.). I hope you learned something and have read the Ch. 5 - Market-Clearing Price packet for Thursday's lesson and Friday's quiz (last one!). Tomorrow we will be in the CCC, so I get a day off. See ya...

Calendar, Schedule, and Holidays oh my!
I decided to spend the day with a discussion conerning the agrarian-based school-year calendar being utilized with an industrial-based daily schedule for educating our students. This tradition, which has become embedded within our culture also has economic ramifications. What if we decided to change to year-round schooling? 9 weeks on followed by 3 weeks off (5 in winter, plus an additional for "Holy Week" in spring). Each term has English and Math, while Social Studies and Science alternate (loner preiods, of course). What are your thoughts?
