Calendar, Schedule, and Holidays oh my!
I decided to spend the day with a discussion conerning the agrarian-based school-year calendar being utilized with an industrial-based daily schedule for educating our students. This tradition, which has become embedded within our culture also has economic ramifications. What if we decided to change to year-round schooling? 9 weeks on followed by 3 weeks off (5 in winter, plus an additional for "Holy Week" in spring). Each term has English and Math, while Social Studies and Science alternate (loner preiods, of course). What are your thoughts?

I don't get what you are talking about.
ReplyDeleteI'm for it. I always forget everything after Summer.
ReplyDeleteThis discussion really made me understand the meaning of life. The agrarian-based school-year is very important for me and my family. This post changed the course of my life, and i will never, under any circumstance, forget this magical moment.
ReplyDeleteThanks again
Hmmmmmmmm, interesting, and about the question you ask. here is a thought why don't we just take half day of the classes on Saturday like those Japanese schools do and think about it.
ReplyDeletehave a nice day!
by nice, i mean crappy and i am just kidding.
WA HA HA HA HA!
All year school is a good idea. I hate reviewing all of the stuff we learned after summer break. Especially math...
ReplyDeletehave a nice day.
i actually like this idea. not only is reviewing the first month is bad, 6 months later we get tested on it for mca's and i still don't remember it.
ReplyDeleteI'm for it except maybe for the class switching of SS and science. Not sure I could really learn anything without taking the class straight up for a period.
ReplyDeleteMayber Obama will advocate for a all-year school program.
ReplyDeleteSummer vacation is too good to waste, so I hope not.
