I got a virus, and decided to share it with you as you celebrate your Turkey Day:
Too bad they edited the lyrics with Animal, but still fun.

Vote Bob
We started watching "Bob Roberts" today, and should finish tomorrow (unless there are many distractions). It's a bit "Leftist" in its presentation, but is balanced by the Stossel stuff I have shown. If you are absent tomorrow, you can finish the movie online here (Not sure about the legality - there are so many streaming sites nowadays, but it was on hulu at one time - someone let me know if this site is legit or if I should remove the link). You should realize by now that I do not waste classroom time, so take this film in and try to use what you have learned to deconstruct it. I will ask you to write a critique next week...but with parameters.
The Ch. 10 Quiz will be given next TUESDAY. The Presidential Legacies (part I) will be analyzed by me tomorrow evening - it better look good and have plenty of valuable information. The CH. 10 Quiz will include a couple of questions about those presidents, so be ready.
You should enjoy your long weekend because I have a difficult road planned for the following 3 weeks (nothing like Cormac McCarthy's). CharChar

But it's Not Fair!
Nothing ever will be completely fair. We made it through today - I can't wait until I get a chance to analyze the results of the Ch 10 PreQuiz - from what I glanced at today, it is obvious that some of you did not read the chapter. Frustrating. Don't forget to participate in the forum (under week 9 in the Moodle). We'll zoom through the Ch. 10 slideshow tomorrow after whetting your appetite today. We could spend the rest of the year studying the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections. It will forever be at the forefront of "what-ifs" and "woulda-shoulda-coulda" political arguments in your lifetime. SNL showed us the parallel universe a few years ago (I Do NOT Endorse the Ad):
I should be more mobile tomorrow so be ready to learn, ask, and discuss.
There is also a need for clarification regarding the Presidential Legacies assignment that is "due" Wednesday. I do not want anyone to email or submit something. I will simply check the online document and decide if it is worthy. I'll pester you with some questions and see if you deserve the credit - kind of a crapshoot, but we'll see how it goes.
Lastly, I'd like to lob a grenade into your Thanksgiving gatherings. Have any of you ever heard of or read Alfie Kohn? I guarantee that some of you will LOVE his ideas. To get you started, read this and discuss with your family over the long weekend.

Q1 Test Analysis
The Q1 Exam Analysis must be postponed from Mon PM and Tues AM. I have been having back spasms all day Sunday. I will be in school this week, but my time will be limited, and I will be in pain...for the next 2 days at least. It's the result of a tree falling on my when I was 18, weight gain, and leaf clean-up on Saturday. My best friends tomorrow will be the tablet that allows me to write on the screen, a comfy chair, Advil, and your patience. And I'll allow each class only one mocking moment to ridicule my "old man" qualities as a soon-to-be 37-yr-old. Oh - and don't worry - you'll still have the Ch 10 Pre-Quiz tomorrow.
