Vote Bob

We started watching "Bob Roberts" today, and should finish tomorrow (unless there are many distractions).  It's a bit "Leftist" in its presentation, but is balanced by the Stossel stuff I have shown.  If you are absent tomorrow, you can finish the movie online here (Not sure about the legality - there are so many streaming sites nowadays, but it was on hulu at one time - someone let me know if this site is legit or if I should remove the link).  You should realize by now that I do not waste classroom time, so take this film in and try to use what you have learned to deconstruct it.  I will ask you to write a critique next week...but with parameters.

The Ch. 10 Quiz will be given next TUESDAY.  The Presidential Legacies (part I) will be analyzed by me tomorrow evening - it better look good and have plenty of valuable information.  The CH. 10 Quiz will include a couple of questions about those presidents, so be ready.

You should enjoy your long weekend because I have a difficult road planned for the following 3 weeks (nothing like Cormac McCarthy's).  CharChar

  6. A netnerd like you should know it means "For The Win" but I guess age and experience win out this time. BTW (Noam - that means "By The Way") AD (that means "Arrested Development") paved the way for The Office being imported and was nothing more than an updated version of "Soap" from the 1970's.

  7. Romo, not a fan of AD?
    Best comedy of the decade.

  8. I AM a fan - but it was not as original as many had believed. It was zany, unpredictable, and fun. There will be a movie too, so at least we can look forward to that.

  9. Absolutely. Damn Michael Cera for jeopardizing it! I think we should watch AD in class as a reference to the Bush family. Think about it, George Sr. has a son with his same name, just a different middle name (G.O.B.), George Sr. was more successful than his idiot son, merely an idiot magician (even though GOB was president of the bluth company for a short time...). Now look at the Bush family. George HW Bush, president, well regarded, son (GWB) becomes president, son is an idiot, ruins family name.
